Does anyone have instruction on how to do this that works? Just changing that one connection string value does not seem sufficient because the Squiggle Log clearly shows that it is still trying to connect to the SQLite database for history, not my SQL Server.

What else needs to be changed?

First, I'm not an IT person so please use very basic english with me.

We have four W7 computers running through a Windows Server 2008. We all want to talk to each other. I have downloaded 3.4 beta.zip.
  1. Do I unzip this on one W7 computer, on all four W7 machines or on the server?
  2. Do I need to decide Bridge or Multicast? I don't understand the difference even after reading the documenation.
  3. Do the ip addresses of ANY of the computers have to be static? The Server is the only computer with a static ip address at this point.
Thanks for any help. I'm sure I'll have additional questions.

You do not need bridge or multicast.
You need to unzip the folder on all four machines.
You don't need static ip.

Thank you Hasan. This is what I needed. I will post one other question about whether a previous version needs to be uninstalled.

Yes you should delete the old version. All computers should be on the same version and should have a single copy in each machine.

I'm trying to figure out a way for multiple users to use Squiggle on the same computer.

An example:
First shift employee and Second shift have different logins to the same computer. When Second Shift comes in, the only user that appears on their squiggle is the other user on the same computer.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would like to launch the Squiggle client as soon as the user logs into the machine.
Is there a way I can pass the Display Name and Group Name while launching the client from command line?

No you cannot provide it from command line. Please feel free to update the source code and the feature to it.

I see that you can access your personal message history but are these logs also available to others on the network or available to IT. I know this client was designed with messaging across a company network but my wife also happens to work at the same company and is therefore on the company network. I'm just trying to figure out if I should keep Squiggle strictly for work or if it is safe for work AND personal. I'd rather not have IT or anyone else reading personal non-work messages between me and my wife.

Squiggle logs are saved either on local machine or on a shared database on the network. If you do not want a particular conversation to be logged, you can turn off logging.

In attempting to start the bridge service on another PC i get the following error: The Squiggle Bridge service on the local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Any input on this?

Using Squiggle v3.3.3.0 on our office network (all same type desktops win 7 Pro with a MS SVR 2012), added a new user,; users do not see him and he does not see us. Is there a detail procedure to troubleshoot this matter? Observations: Same status as of 24 hours. Reboot have occurred. We all the same Presence address, presence and chat ports and unique binding IPs. Pings OK. We all use the same Squiggle version.

Thanks.

Comments: Right click on the dlls in plugins folder, go to properties and 'unblock' them. Then restart Squiggle.
